Annotations not appearing in desktop application

I know this is a problem that has been discussed here before, but I am unable to find someone in my exact situation and thought a post of my own problem may help others as well.

I use zotfile to send and receive pdfs between my laptop and my tablet.Up until this week, this has worked just fine, and annotations appeared in the pdf reader of the desktop app and could be edited like normal.

However, highlights from pdfs retrieved back to my laptop this week do not appear in the desktop app pdf reader.Older pdf highlights retrieved the same way earlier this month still do.The weird thing is that the highlights appear when I open the more recent files in adobe reader via "Show File", and they /also/ appear in the pdf viewer of my web library.Pen markings from my tablet appear in every version of the _annotated pdfs, including in the desktop app pdf reader.

The annotations have clearly been retrieved from my tablet, but do not appear in the desktop app for some reason.Help!

I think I figured it out!188BET靠谱吗Before syncing the pdfs back to my desktop, the data (highlights and annotations) have to be "embedded" in the document to show up together in the Zotero desktop app.
