Chapter deposited on arXiv is saved as book

When I try to save this: https://arxiv.org/abs/1206.1901188BET靠谱吗, it gets saved into Zotero as a book.

I think it should be saved as preprint, like all things from arXiv (even if they are a deposit from something else).

    No, we're importing the final publications on purpose where they exist, and I think that's the right approach (some people will disagree, but I think more often than not that's correct).The problem here is that the linked DOI is for the book instead of the chapter -- the chapter does have it's own DOI, but T&F has made a giant mess of that: 10.1201/b10905-6 has the right metadata ( https://search.crossref.org/search/works?q=10.1201/b10905-6&from_ui=yesbut 10.1201/b10905-10 is linking to the right place.

    188BET靠谱吗You _can_ import the 'preprint' metadata by right-clicking on the Save to Zotero icon, selecting DOI and then the chapter title: currently that imports as a journal article because we don't handle preprints from Datacite properly, but that's something we'll actually fix, hopefully in the near future.

    Regarding this, sometimes the arXiv version of a paper will have updates not present in the "final publication", since authors may continue to update the arXiv version to correct typos, etc..I believe that if a user wants the final publication, they can always go to the journal webpage and import that, if desired.

    So personally, I'd prefer to always get the 'preprint' metadata, if I save a paper from arXiv.I also think what's not right is importing the PDF from arXiv, but then pulling the metadata from the final publication.That seems inconsistent.

    Could we have an option in this menu to import it just as an arXiv preprint?I tried all the options in the menu and it either imports it as a published paper, or the full book (though in both cases the PDF is just the one coming from arXiv).

    You're saying that the current behavior has a bug, but normally it should import as preprint?188BET靠谱吗(That is, when one follows the steps you mentioned, right-clicking on the Save to Zotero icon, selecting DOI and then the chapter title)
