Citation numbers doubling in reference list

Hi, I am having an issue with the numbers in my reference list in Microsoft word (version 16.86, microsoft 365) does not always update properly. The numbers in the text are correct, just the reference list at the end is messed up.Is there a reason for this and/or how can I go about fixing it besides editing the bibloiography number by number.188BET靠谱吗Refreshing with zotero in the document does not fix the issue.Deleting the citation in the text removes the citation from the list (and corrects the numbering in the list) but when I reinsert, it does the same doubling.Any help will be great, thanks in advance!188BET靠谱吗My zotero is 6.0.37.

  • Is this a default citation style or have you modified it yourself?Have you added items to the bibliography via the Edit Bibliography dialog? If you press Add/Edit Bibliography and the "Revert All" button in the bottom left is available, it means you have done manual edits. If you have changes, does it help if you revert them?
  • I have edited the citations because they include the doi which is unnecessary for my paper.Once i hit "revert all" it does fix the issue (sorry I did not try this)!188BET靠谱吗Is there a way I can make Zotero remove the "doi inclusion" without coming across this issue?Thank you again for the help!

Lets call the second 26 "26b", I want all my citations to look like (without the doi hyperlink) that and not look like the first 26 "26a".
  • Which journal is this for?
If it's an actual error we'd want to fix this centrally for all users, not just one single person.
  • Its pretty standard for most scientific journals using ACS format to be honest, such as Organic Letters (Org Lett), Journal of American Chemistry (JACS), and angewante chemie international edition are just some of the ones I can think of.These three journals are of many others that use the same citations I provided in this form but do not include the "doi.org" link.
  • The ACS journals do want the DOI on submission though, or that's at least what they've told us.
  • That's weird as I was not aware of this, because in any journal, the doi isnt included in the actual paper upon publishing, so maybe its for something else by them?I am not sure.

  • 188BET靠谱吗this might be a question now for the journal rather than Zotero for now.I will update if anything changes or learn of anything.
  • Some journals require the DOI for finalising the print version, but don't include it in the typeset paper.
