Files Missing in my folder

Hello,
I logged into my account and found that my files are missing in my folders.How do I retrieve them?They are not in my trash can, and I never deleted them.188BET靠谱吗Does anyone have this problem with Zotero where their files just go missing?

It's not clear what you mean here, but many items were deleted in your library on June 21/22.If that's what you're referring to, that would've had to have been done by you or someone who had access to your account (e.g., on a shared computer).

You still have 300+ items in your online library.

188BET靠谱吗If you just synced desktop Zotero for the first time since this occurred, and the items existed locally on this computer before that, you should be able to restore the items from your last automatic backupand overwrite the online version.

Thank you so much dstillman for replying!The steps you mentioned are not working for me :(.I have less than 150 items in my library.The folder that is labeled 'Critical Theory Nurs 7000' had in my research papers for my PhD program.How can I get back this folder?

I'm afraid I can't really tell you more than I say in my last message.

Again, you have ~300 top-level items in your online library.I'm not sure why you're saying you have 150, but you can look at the online library to see all the items and compare that to what you have locally.

As I say, lots of items were deleted on June 21 or 22.It looks like the deletions came from the iOS app.Is that something you recall doing?

That collection currently has 35 items in it.

If there were more items before, and they were in your desktop app library before the sync that you just did, the steps I linked to will be able to restore them.188BET靠谱吗You should make a backup of the zotero.sqlite* files in your data directory, as the instructions suggest, and if you're having trouble ask someone tech-y to go through those steps with you.

188BET靠谱吗If the items were never on this computer, or if you've had Zotero open and syncing for a while since whenever the items you're looking for were deleted, you wouldn't be able to restore them from one of the automatic backups, which are only from the last two days.(You can see the times from the timestamps.)

This is where all support happens.You have access to anything that can be restored.If you delete something and sync, it's gone from our servers.188BET靠谱吗It would still be in the desktop app's automatic backups going back two days from when those deletions were made or synced down from the online library, but if you opened Zotero on the desktop since June 21/22 and didn't notice this earlier, it might be too late.Again, you should ask someone to help you try restoring from the automatic backups if you're not sure you did it correctly.

Unless you're using different accounts, you should see the same data on your desktop and iOS devices — that's the point of syncing.

It does indeed look like everything in your current library online was created March 8th or later.If you created items before then, they were deleted on June 21/22.I can't tell you how that happened other than that the deletions were made from the iOS app.It's possible you tried to resolve the storage issue and deleted more than you meant to by mistake.
