Style Error: Plant Disease

I am attempting to format a manuscript with the Plant Disease style applied and am encountering the following errors:

1.Citations should be alphabetical, but are not so ordered.

2.In the references, journal titles should be abbreviated except for single-word titles. If the title is a single word, there should not be a period after the title, before the volume number.

Published example:

Cap from formatted manuscript, showing that titles are not abbreviated and do have extraneous periods:

I just re-downloaded the style from 188BET靠谱吗//www.brodersterzo.com/styles?q=Plant Diseaseto make sure that I was up-to-date, but the file listing shows that it hasn't been updated since early 2015, anyway.
  • "Plant Disease" style is a child of "American Phytopathological Society" style, which seems to be outdated.

  • Thanks poettli for the link and for looking into it.

    I've fixed issue #1.
Issue #2 with the dot after the container title, is a non-issue.The dot is only added for abbreviated titles. It's not a typical prefix/suffix, so wouldn't appear.188BET靠谱吗I am not sure why you're seeing it, but make sure your "Journal Abbr" field in Zotero is empty.

I made some other smaller changes also.
    You can use this style:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/raw/0c2596f3ad9d03b7b5a4e6275e16508db9928268/american-phytopathological-society.csl
  • Thanks damnation
  • Thank you both!
  • Ah, but now another question: how do I download and apply the style under that link?I tried opening the current style file and just replacing the content with the code linked, but it doesn't seem to work.

Sorry, I'm just a user!I'm not enlightened in the ways of coding.
  • Will do ...thank you!
  • 188BET靠谱吗(FWIW, clickin on the link should prompt you to install the style if you have a Zotero connector in the browser you're using!not sure if it'll work in Safari, though)
  • (It does not either in Chrome or in Firefox on my computer.)
  • Well, it isn't going as smoothly as I had hoped. The new style isn't installing, whether I try double-clicking the saved file or installing via the style manager.

    I now have two files:
1.I copied the code into a new text file, changed the extension to .csl, and tried installing it, but I get an error message:
    188BET靠谱吗https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u9729720/44gdrlctlx49pgeegb9u.png

2.I downloaded the Plant Disease style from the repository, already with the .csl extension, opened it with text editor, replaced the content with the code from the github link, saved, closed, and attempted to install. For this one I get no error message, but nothing installs, either.
  • I also tried a third route:

3.Used word to save the code as a txt file (vs.the rtf file generated by text editor), changed the extension to .csl from .txt, and tried both routes.Similar to option 2, nothing happened at all.
  • The good news is that the parent style "American Phytopathological Society" seems to be working well.I switched to that one, and the citations ordered themselves alphabetically and the extraneous periods in the references disappeared!
  • 188BET靠谱吗If clicking on the link doesn't prompt to install to Zotero, you can simply "save as..." then in your OS file explorer, double-click on the downloaded file to install to Zotero (or from Zotero, ""Settings", "Cite", "+")
  • Finally figured out the "problem"!It was installing!it was just installing as and updating the profile for the "American Phytopathological Society" style, not the "Plant Disease" Style. That also explains why switching over and applying the APS style fixed everything!I kept looking for the "Plant Disease" style in the list, but it was the parent that was modified and updated, not the child on which I initially filed the report. This works!!!
