is it possible to add parent items with citations?
188BET靠谱吗I use zotero for managing all the papers of my collection. For new ones and those published in "referenced" reviews this works very well, however I have a lot of very old papers or papers that are published in small journals without DOI.When I look for them in google scholar, I find them immediatly and correctly referenced and I can export a citation.I was wondering if there was a possibility to create a parent item for a pdf I add in the collection using a citation like the one below, instead of the time-consuming process of adding manually author, date, journal, etc.
188BET靠谱吗In the settings of zotero, I have google scholar as one of the engines used for searching metadata, but apparently it is not working.
An example of citation that contains everything you need for creating a parent item:
"WALLACE, Alfred Russell. On the physical geography of the Malay Archipelago. The Journal of the Royal Geographical Society of London, 1863, vol.33, p.217-234."
Thank you in advance

tim820188BET靠谱吗If the PDF is already in your library (but without a parent item), and the Zotero Connector can create a (new) item with good metadata from Google Scholar, you could just drag the PDF onto the new item.

rpoloniThank you Tim.The problem is that I cannot figure out how to import a google scholar citation as an item.

adamsmith188BET靠谱吗Via the Zotero Connector's "Save to Zotero" button in your browser: 188BET靠谱吗//www.brodersterzo.com/support/adding_items_to_zotero#via_your_web_browser

rpoloniI see, but in this way it does not catch the metadata systematically, especially for results that are actually files.
