Beta 7 (and 6.0.37)

Issues with Item Type: Audio Recording

1.if you enter a composer's name, it does not appear in the My Library under "Creator".If you want to have it show as a creator, you must enter the name as a Performer.

2.There is no good place to enter the producer's CD number. If you use the Volume field, in Chicago style, the text Vol: appears in fromt of the entered CD number.

Following the Purdue OWL recommendation, a recording of Beethovens 5th & 7th symphonies works pretty well as follows:

Title: Symphonies No.5 & No.7 (recorded by Cleveland Orchestra/von Dohnányi)

Performer: Beethoven, Ludwig van

Format: CD (DDD 80163)

Place: Cleveland

Label: Telarc

Date: 1988

The Chicago 17 creator/date output is:

test(Beethoven 1988)
Beethoven, Ludwig van.1988.Symphonies No.5 & No.7 (Recorded by Cleveland Orchestra/von Dohnányi).CD (DDD 80163).Cleveland: Telarc.

The full note footnote is:

1 Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphonies No.5 & No.7 (Recorded by Cleveland Orchestra/von Dohnányi), CD (DDD 80163) (Cleveland: Telarc, 1988).

It would be very nice if the following could be implemented:

1.Allow the Composer to also be the creator in the My Library view

2.Provided separate fields for the Orchestra Name, for the Conductor, the CD number and the recording format. The latter is typically ADD or DDD.

3.if by chance anyone still has tapes in various forms, there should be options for them as well.

With these fields provided, the output format should be as shown in the examples--these follow the OWL recommendation. The new fields would ease input data whereas the above kluge does work to provide the recommended format.
