Creator name field pick list

Trying to resolve some disambiguation issues, I'm trying to ensure that all papers by the same author have precisely the same name details, so I need to locate the offenders.The picklists suggest that I have at least four variants in My Library (700+ docs).How is the picklist populated?Is there a way of performing a reverse search to identify the problematic items, please?Advanced Search hasn't located anything with the '1956' text in the creator field, for instance.
