Book section query

[I think this applies to both client and online equally]
When I enter a book section from an anthology, there is nowhere to enter the editors of the source book.Maybe there is something I don't yet understand?

This is a problem because anthologies are generally memorised and known as the name of the editor e.g."Yes that's in Sullivan."
So it's important to have the editor/s name/s displayed - and have them included in a citation.

At the moment I use Book Section, and add the editors in Extra. That at least puts this crucial info in the item. But it doesn't get it in the citation.
Also when I see a Book Section listing on a page of listings, I have to keep opening it up to find out which anthology it's from - as noted we all know these anthologies by their editors names not the titles.

  • Thanks very much Adam.I'd completely missed that.
  • Hello,

I've a related query, to which I can't seem to see any discussion on the site.

When entering book chapters in edited volumes, I've done so manually as suggested. However, this seems to mean that, for each chapter cited, the entire bibliographical information of the edited volume is given. This seems unnecessary. Is there a way to have the full title of the edited book given only in its first entry, and then a short title, or merely the editors' names for subsequent ones?

    Thanks very much.
  • no, there's not currently a way to do that and there won't be at least in the near to near-medium future.
