Minimizing to the Windows system tray is a fairly common request, and might happen in the future, though not anytime soon for technical reasons.On a Mac it's possible to close the main window and still save from the browser.

You can also install the Firetray plugin ( https://github.com/LaserTron/FireTray).Several generic utilities are also available on Windows to minimize any program to the tray.

Windows does not have a built in function to do that.Firetab is open source.You can see that it doesn't have any malicious code in it.

I have found the perfect solution for it with this - https://rbtray.sourceforge.net/.188BET靠谱吗RBtray, And it can be used for any other application that has the same problem as zotero.

@ZarifKaisar, thanks for the suggestion.This is a nice app.However, it only solves the minimization problem which sends it to tray.When you close it, it closes all the same.Did you fix this somehow?
