move item to a single collection

I linked an item to 2 collections.Now I would like to move or delete the item from one collection.If I delete it, it would be deleted from both collections.If I try to move with Shift from the 2nd collection to the 1st it won't let me.How to do the right way?

If you just use the delete button while looking at the item in the collection or the equivalent right-click --> Remove item from collection, that will achieve exactly what you want.
Only when you move the item to the trash will it be removed from both collections.
